📘 Tutoring Terms & Policies
These FAQs cover everything you need to know about how tutoring sessions are scheduled, paid for, canceled, and supported. Please read through before booking.
-
All tutoring plans/ assessment fees must be paid in full before sessions begin.
Invoices are sent to the parent/guardian email on file and are due one week before your start date and 48 hours before the assessment date.
If payment is not received by then, your reserved time slot will be released and rescheduled once payment is complete.
Long-term lesson packages include built-in discounts with payment plans available.

At TLC we aim to provide a flexible cancellation and rescheduling policy that fits the complex family schedule. Lessons may be paused at any time and in most cases lessons can be added to the end of a package. Regular lessons and continuity play an important role in student progress and at times the teacher may request to reschedule instead of moving the lesson to the end of the package.
24-Hour Policy
You must provide at least 24 hours’ notice for change in lesson time, cancellations, rescheduling, or switching from in-person to online.
With 24+ hours’ notice, your session can be:
Moved to a later date (added to the end of your package or rescheduled as agreed upon by all parties)
Switched to an online session
Any cancellation under 24 hours, is forfeited and cannot be rescheduled.
Grace Pass
In the event of an illness or emergency, every client is allowed one short notice cancellation per term (September-December, January-March, April- June)
The session will be rescheduled or moved to the end of the package
Short-Notice Cancellations/ Changes
To preserve class time for all students, a request for late/early start or departure from the lesson will not be adjusted automatically.
When possible, lessons can start/end earlier/later.
Tutor Cancellations
If the tutor must cancel, a make-up session will be offered, or a credit will be applied to your next invoice.

Summer Break:
Schedules are reworked for fall and lesson times from the previous academic year cannot be guaranteed.
Please confirm lesson time/s before pausing for summer break.
Winter/ March break:
Paused lessons will resume at their usual cadence after the break.
Families may change their lesson schedule if the teacher’s calendar is able to accommodate such a change.
